Volcarona

I haven't drawn a decent picture in months. ;u; But now that the UBF contest is over for me and I have a bit more free time, I thought a little practice would be nice. Its safe to say that I'm not as rusty as I thought I'd be but I still couldn't figure out a decent background, ha. And its too dark. I do hope the poor bug isn't afraid of the dark.

Ever since I finally got that black and white pokemon game, I think I find myself quite fond of the volcarona pokemon. Had to try my hand at drawing it realistically. eue

Though I still can't figure out if those are horns or antennae on its head. Even though the latter was chosen for this pic, they're probably horns indeed. =A= Also, couldn't decide whether to make the wings butterfly wings, mutant wings, or some other kind of bug wings, so I found myself experimenting and this is what came into being. Some kind of... fairy...leaf-like petal doodads. I like it. Even if the poor bug's wings are look like they're almost torn to shreds.
